More than 100 villages had been marooned due to unprecedented floods in the
vicinity of Saryu and Ghaghra rivers. The villages had been cut off from rest
of the country due to rivers breaching the danger mark and washing away roads
and bridges. The IAF helicopters flew missions continuously in the last two
days over the flood hit areas and provided the much needed succour and relief
to the inundated villages.
