CM invites Investors to come & make Rajasthan their Karmabhumi

Jaipur, The Chief Minister Smt Vasundhara Raje  while welcoming the investors to come and set up their enterprises in Rajasthan, said that the people of the state could not wait too long for development. She said "By taking swift decisions we wish to develop Rajasthan as a 'Model State' in Road sector as well. Doors are wide open for the investors, you come with your proposals, sit across with us and make Rajasthan your karmabhumi. We offer you full support and assurance of early decisions. We are in much hurry for development."
 Smt. Raje said this while addressing a gathering of entrepreneurs and investors during the Conference on Public Private Partnership in State Highways by the Public Works Department (PWD) on Saturday at Hotel Taj in New Delhi. She said that her focus was on highways as well as development of the rural roads so that the countryside too could get into the mainstream of development. She said that in the present scenario governments had a role of facilitator and partner in development works. The government would develop an economic and social infrastructure, in which opportunities were available to the market and paths of prosperity were opened.
The Chief Minister said that her experience during the previous tenure on partnership with the private players in road development sector was quite good. Over 1,000 kilometer long high quality roads laid by RIDCOR, a company having part ownership of the state government were a proof of this, she said.
Smt Raje said that construction of 20,000 kilometers of State Highways in Rajasthan would be dream project, in which investors' support was expected. Rajasthan would be the best suited place for investment today and it was growing very fast as a productive market, she said. She underlined that investors were required to accelerate this pace of development and work together.
The Chief Minister said that her idea was to have such high quality roads in Rajasthan which were safe and comfortable and which could push the state's economy in the direction of development. She added that with the formation of new government in the country, things were progressing with new thinking. The synergy was being felt at the state level as well, she said. The CM reiterated that the Rajasthan government would extend full support to the private players attending this conference and all the difficulties would be removed. She said that a Public-Private-Partnership (PPP) cell had been established in the PWD, which would be later affiliated to the Rajasthan State Highway Authority.
In the conference, the State PWD Minister Shri Yunus Khan said that in the leadership of the CM Smt. Raje a good start had been made for reinforcement of roads in the state and very soon results would be witnessed by all. Prior to this, Principal Secretary PWD Shri D.B. Gupta also gave detailed presentations about the geographical, social and economic status of Rajasthan and need of private players in development of basic infrastructure and efforts made so far.
During the conference, the entrepreneurs also shared their views, problems and doubts and their experiences in the other states. They further wished to know about the efforts made by the Rajasthan government to address such issues. The CM assured the investors about timely payments and said that the government would incorporate culture like environment.
The Chief Secretary Shri Rajiv Mehrishi, Additional Chief Secretary (Infra) Shri C.S. Rajan, Principal Secretary Finance Shri Subhash Garg, Secretary PWD Shri R.P. Khandelwal, Advisor to Planning Commission Shri Gajendra Haldiya, Chief Engineers of the PWD, senior officials of the National Highway Authority of India and others were present in the conference.
