New Delhi,In the Annual Programme issued by the
Department of Official Language, for the usage of Hindi in Central Government
Offices, 100% target has been fixed for updating of Hindi websites for all
Ministries/Departments. Instructions have been issued from time to time that
the Ministries/Departments should ensure that all the materials/documents
available in English on their websites and on their subordinate/attached
offices and public sector undertakings should be updated in Hindi also. Latest
instructions have been issued on 15th July, 2014 to update websites in Hindi.
According to the information available, websites of 29 Ministries/ Departments
have not been fully updated in Hindi. Some websites are updated simultaneously
both in Hindi and English, whereas Hindi contents have not been updated
properly on some websites.
The progress in this regard is also monitored through Quarterly Progress Report
received from the Ministries/Departments. National Informatics Centre has also
organized training in Unicode to enable persons to work in Hindi on the
computers and thereby update their websites.
