Sahni, visited Faridkot
Military Station from 30thSep -01Oct 14. On arrival at the
Military Station, they were warmly welcomed by Lieutenant General PM Hariz, SM,
VSM, General Officer Commanding, Chetak Corps and Mrs Zarina Hariz.
The General Officer was briefed by Brigadier Sanjeev Yadav, Station Commander,
Faridkot Military Station on various security aspects and ongoing training
activities. Later, he was updated on various infrastructural development
projects of Faridkot Military Station.
During his visit, the General Officer remembered the martyrs of ‘Harar Kalan’
who made the supreme sacrifice for the Nation in the 1971 War and laid a wreath
on the auspicious occasion of 51st Raising
Day celebrations of ‘Harar Kalan’ Medium Regiment. This battle honor of ‘Harar
Kalan’ was earned by the Regiment for their valour and supreme sacrifice in
the 1971 War (Operation Cactus-Lily).
The General Officer in various forums addressed officers, ladies and other ranks
of the entire Military Station exhorted them to strive for professional
excellence in discharge of their duties. He also emphasized on the need
to create a conducive working environment and improve the
quality of life .
