As part of the operation Sadbhavna to encourage local talent in
sports, Late Lady Cadet Stanzin Odzes Memorial Inter Village Ice Hockey
Tournament is being organised. The tournament is being conducted with
active involvement of the local ‘Lalok Sports Association’. The tournament saw
the participation of 12 Ice Hockey Teams of the local villages/schools. During
the tournament, the skill, the speed, the enthusiasm, the ferocity and the
fighting spirit of the Ladakhi Players was displayed. The sport being
enormously popular, the locals in huge numbers thronged the venue to cheer for
their favourite teams. The colourful extravaganza also witnessed a cultural
programme by the locals presenting the traditional Ladakhi dances and ‘Bhangra’
by the Army Troops. The tournament will culminate on 17 Dec 14 with the conduct
of final match and prize distribution ceremony.
