WORLD CRAFTS COUNCIL PRESIDENT DR. QADDUMI MEETS CM

PROMOTION OF CRAFTS & ARTISANS IN THE STATE DISCUSSED
Jaipur, Chief Minister Smt. Vasundhara Raje discussed about the promotion of crafts and artisans in the state during her meeting with World Crafts Council (WCC) President Dr. Ghada Hijjawi Qaddumi here at Chief Minister's residence on Thursday.
Smt. Raje said Jaipur Dialogue can be started to promote crafts of the state. She also informed that the Indian Institute of Crafts & Design (IICD), Jaipur will do the proper indexing of the crafts of Rajasthan. To make eco-friendly dye the state government will work on this project with WCC, she said.  
President of World Crafts Council Dr. Qaddumi had all praise for the rich crafts of Rajasthan. She said Council was much impressed by the works done by the Artisans, Crafts Institutes, NGOs and the State Government to promote crafts in the state. She suggested that the artisans of the state be sent to other countries under the craftsmen exchange programme. Dr. Qaddumi also suggested that the Craft Village Tourism be promoted in the state.
Members of the World Crafts Council Mrs. Raja Fuziah Binti Raja Uda and Mrs. Usha Krishna, Member of the CM Advisory Council Smt. Mira Mehrishi, Chairperson of the Academic Council of IICD Mrs. Rathi Vinay Jha, Commissioner Industries Shri Abhay Kumar, MD, RSIC Shri Dinesh M. N. and other officials were present during the meeting.
