Jaipur, State government
has notified constitution of the State Finance Commission. Dr. Jyoti Kiran will
chair the Commission and retired IAS Shri S.C. Derashri will be the full-time
Member Secretary. The Chairperson will be given status of the Minister of
State.
State Finance Commission will give recommendations in regard to
financial management and allocation of funds to the Panchayati Raj Insitutions
(PRIs) and the Municipalities. It will review the status of finances of the
Panchayats and Municipalities and recommend for improvement. The commission
will also give recommendations in regard to collection of revenue in the form
of taxes, duties, fee etc. in the respective Panchayat or Municipal regions.
As per notification, the Commission shall cover a period of five
years commencing from April 1, 2015 and submit its report by November 30, 2015.
Chairperson of the State Finance Commission Dr. Jyoti Kiran has a
good knowledge of economic affairs and she is a doctorate in Economics subject.
