Jaipur, “Know that you will have
to give many more kinds of exams on many more occasions in your life. And only some
of these exams will be academic in nature. A majority of the exams you will
have to give are Life’s Examinations – the tests you will face during the
inevitable twists and turns in your life.” These word said by Sudheendra
Kulkarni, Aide to Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee, former Prime Minister of India and
Chairman, Observer Research Foundation Mumbai, on the occasion of 3rd convocation
programme of Manipal University Jaipur at its campus as a Chief Guest of the
Programme.
He told that the
Prime Minister has announced that the government will select and support 10
public universities and ten private universities in India under a new scheme to
make them world-class. I have no doubt that Manipal will top the list of
private universities, and will find a place among the Top 100 universities in
the world. He wish for every success to Dr. Ramdas Pai, Dr. Ranjan Pai and all
their colleagues in their endeavor to establish many more such Abodes of
Saraswati – and make Manipal an even more prestigious name in higher education
both in India and around the world.
The progamme
presided over by Dr Ramdas M Pai, Chairperson, MUJ and he also declares the Convocation open and close
after the distribution of the degree and speech by dignitaries. Dr.
Ramdas Pai welcomed with present
bouquets to chief guest and present memento in the end of the programme.
Dr
Vandana Suhag, Registrar, MUJ, stated that the Chief Guest Mr Sudheendra
Kulkarni, Dr Ramdas Pai, Chairperson, MUJ and Prof Sandeep Sancheti, President
MUJ awarded degrees to 759 students of
various streams of UG, PG and Ph.D. Besides, 20 Gold Medals shall be awarded to
meritorious students who have excelled in Academics and 3 more medals – one as
Chairperson’s Gold Medals and one each for best outstanding entrepreneur and extracurricular
activities during the year.
Dr.
Vandana Suhag, Registrar, MUJ told that Madam Vasanthi Pai, Shri Rajen
Padukone, Group President MEMG; Dr H.P. Khincha, Advisor IISc Bangalore and
Chairman Karnataka Innovation Council; Ms Mira Mehrishi, Futll Time Member CMAC
and Vice-Chairman, ADMA; Shri Sudhakar Rao, IAS, Former CS Karnataka and Shri
Anoop Khinchi, Commissioner College Education, Rajasthan, Mohandas Pai, Abhay
Jain and all eminent members of the Board of Management, Finance Committee,
Academic Advisory Board, TSB Advisory Committee, Academic Council and other
such Committees of the university was also present on this occasion. In the end of the programme vote of thanks
given by Dr. Vandana Suhag, Registrar, MUJ. The convocation programme started
with lighting of lamp and sarsvati vandana and completed with national anthem.
