Jaipur,Chief Minister Smt. Vasundhara Raje said that South-East Asian countries Cambodia, Lao PDR, Myanmar and Vietnam (CLMV) could become important strategic business partners with Rajasthan. She said that Rajasthan was successful in business partnerships and our associations with Japan and Singapore were examples of this.Smt. Raje was addressing the inaugural session of the 4th India-CLMV Business Conclave at Hotel Rajputana Sheraton on Monday. She said that these CLMV countries should extend cooperation with the state in the agriculture, manufacturing, jewellery, tourism and skill development sectors. Inviting the entrepreneurs and governments of these countries to partner for business and investment she said that through these collaborations would play important role in socio-economic development in the respective countries and states. The CM said that Myanmar was world famous for its precious Ruby stone and similarly Jaipur was the biggest centre of the world for trade of coloured gemstones. She said that the jewellery workers of Jaipur also had expertise in carving of precious stones. Both the sides could benefit by cooperating in this sector, she added. She further asked the overseas participants of the conclave to visit different tourist places in Jaipur and Rajasthan. She said that the state attracted travellers from the world over for its glorious history, heritage properties, forts and the multi-coloured cultures.
The Union Minister of State for Commerce Smt. Nirmala Sitharaman said that this conclave was important part of Look East and Act East polices if the country. She said that as Rajasthan was on the path of becoming a leading state in trade and industry under visionary leadership of Smt. Raje and that's why it was hosting this year's conclave. Smt. Sitharaman invited the representatives from CLMV countries to participate in the International Textile Fair Vastra-2017 on behalf of the state government.
Minister of Commerce of Myanmar Dr Than Myint, Vice Minister of Industry of Vietnam Shri Cao Quoc Hung, President of Confederation of Indian Industries (CII) Dr. Naushad Forbes and Director General of CII Shri Chandrajit Banerjee also addressed the session.
After inauguration of the conclave the CM held talks with Union Minister Smt. Sitharaman, representatives of CLMV countries and CII office-bearers on various issues of trade and partnership.
