Commander's conference of Western Air Command was held at Head Quarters Western
Air Command, New Delhi. During this conference a number of awards were
given away in various disciplines to best performing
stations and units.
Air Force Station Nal achieved the "highest distinction
of ''Best Station'' and was conferred upon the title "Pride
of Western Air Command" for the year 2013-14. In addition,
Air Force Station Nal was also adjudged as best in "Maintenance
practices". Best "Air Force Net (Flying Station) unit.
The fighter Squadron based at Air Force Station Nal also bagged a number of
team and individual trophies during gunnery meet; Ex-Ekalavya. The icing
on the cake has been the award of"Best proactive Air Force Wives
Welfare Association" to the station AFWWA, which is a fitting
recognition of the relentless efforts done by the association towards the
welfare of "Sanginis". The awards were received by
Air Commodore S Bhatnagar Air Officer Commanding, Air Force Station, Nal and
Mrs Shalini Bhatnagar, President AFWWA (Local), Air Force Station Nal.
Air Commodore S Bhatnagar, Air Officer Commanding, Air Force Station Nal
addressed station personnel during a parade today and complemented them for
achieving this rare distinction. During his motivating address, he
acknowledged the hard work and dedication of every individual of the
station. He emphasized that the team work and consistent performance
demonstrated by the station were the two important aspects which earned this
prestigious award to the station, the first since its inception. He urged
the station personnel to continue their good work and continue to work for
excellence in their respective field. In the end he presented the
trophies earned by the station and units. On behalf of state personnel,
the trophy for Best Flying Station "Pride of Western Air
Command" was received by Group Captain Rajesh Joshi, Chief
Operations Officer of Air Force Station Nal. Group Captain Shankar Das,
Chief Engineering Officer of Air Force Station Nal received the trophy
for "Best in Maintenance Practices" and Wing
Commander Urmila Sahoo received the trophy for "Best Air Force Net
Unit". Group Captain KJ Mahendra, Commanding Officer received
the trophies earned by his Squadron and Wing Commander Arvind Kumar received
individual trophy earned by him.
