“SAVE PLANT, SAVE EARTH”.
Jodhpur, Van
Mahotsav was celebrated in a big way at Military Station Kota on 12 July 2014,
under the aegis of Gandiv Division and District Forest Office, Kota. Mrs
Madhu Siwach, Chairperson Gandiv Family Welfare
Organisation and Mr Vikram Pradhan, the DFO, Kota led the drive by planting
saplings.
Over 2000 saplings were planted by army men, their families and volunteers from
forest department in local areas including Abhera and along Chambal
River. One and all participated with zest, zeal and fervour including
staff and children from Army Public School, Kota and Gandiv Army Pre Primary
School giving the message, “SAVE PLANT, SAVE EARTH”.
Benefits of having more plant cover would not only help in preventing soil
erosion but would also benefit all living things by improving air quality,
bringing about improvement in weather conditions and increasing ground water
level.
