Barmer ,Under the aegis of Southern Star
Command, Bogra Brigade located at Jalipa Military Station, Barmer conducted a
visit for school children with an aim to acquaint them with military routine
and ethos.
The
visit held started with the address by Commander Bogra Brigade,
who motivated the next generation to join the glorious Indian Army. His address
was followed by a lecture on ‘Career in Indian Army’ elaborating avenues,
qualifications and procedure to join the Indian Army. After lecture the students were shown an
‘Equipment Display’ in which various weapons, tanks and other equipments held
by the Army were displayed. The
equipment display was followed by a visit to the ‘Brigade Gallery’ showcasing
the rich history and traditions of Bogra Brigade. The students also witnessed the ‘Wreath
Laying Ceremony’ at War Memorial, wherein principals and students of various
schools also paid their respect to the martyrs along with Army
representatives. The event culminated
with a spectacular Light and Sound Show.
The
students were enthralled by the Equipment Display and the Wreath Laying Ceremony,
which most of them were witnessing for the first time in their life. The splendid Light and Sound Show mesmerised
the audience and left them spell bound.
The event was well appreciated by the gathering, which was evident by
the enthusiasm shown by the students during the lecture and Equipment Display.
This
is a welcome initiative taken by the Bogra Brigade to guide, motivate and
encourage the local youth to join the Indian Armed Forces. Approximately 250 students from various schools
of Barmer incl District Collector and other dignitaries attended the
event.
