Jaipur, Chief Minister Smt. Vasundhara Raje has
said that the state government is committed to make entire Rajasthan Open
Defecation Free (ODF) by the year 2017. The state government has planned to
make 2,500 village panchayats ODF every year for the next three years.
Presently, 300 panchayats have been declared ODF and another 300 panchayats
would be announced so very soon.
Smt. Raje was addressing
a function on the occasion of unveiling the statue of Shri Bhawani Singh at
village Madhogarh near Bassi in Jaipur on Tuesday. Talking about the Swachh
Bharat campaign initiated by the Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, the CM said
that people should keep themselves and their homes, streets, villages and
cities clean. She declared to give Rs 50 lakh for Madhogarh panchayat towards
sanitation works under the Swachh Bharat campaign.
On Sarkar Aapke Dwar,
the ambitious Government at Doorstep campaign, the CM said that aim of
launching this initiative was to make the administration alert upto the lowest
level. "We attempted for attention, alertness and awareness from bottom to
the top in administration so that the public in the villages was not strained
to visit Jaipur to get their works done. Small works are expected to complete
at the local level itself," she said.
Smt. Raje said that the
rural women would no more have to step out in dingy streets because Gaurav
Paths would be developed in their villages. Tender processes were underway for
this and the works would actual get start next month, she said.
Prior to this, Smt. Raje
was welcomed by the dignitaries of different community by garlanding and
presenting her odhanis and a sword. Member of Parliament Harish Meena, MLA Shankar Lal Sharma, former MLA Kanhaiya Lal Meena, sarpanch of
Madhogarh village Shivpratap Singh, other officials and dignitaries were
present on this occasion.
