NEED FOR BRINGING ABOUT UNIFORMITY IN STRUCTURE OF TRIBAL ADVISORY COUNCIL - Governor

Jaipur, February 11.  The Governor of Rajasthan & HP   Kalyan Singh stressed upon the need for bringing uniformity in the structure of Tribal Advisory Council and added that grievances of tribal people related to land rights and their implementation besides various other issues should be redressed immediately.
Kalyan Singh was speaking in the 46th conference of governors at Rashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi on wednesday. The Conference is being attended by Twenty-one Governors and two Lt. Governors. He said that Governors should discharge their duties in a prudent manner for ensuring law and order and peace in tribal areas falling under the fifth schedule of the constitution.
The Governor said that state government had submitted a proposal for expansion of scheduled  areas and added that 672 new revenue villages and 3 Municipal Committees had been added in the scheduled areas.He urged the centre to accord approval for the same so that the people residing in the areas could be included in scheduled areas soon.
Shri  Singh said that though Rajasthan was a peaceful state however it faced challenges being situated on the border of Pakistan and added that security in border districts needs to be strengthened.
The Governor said that post offices can be more effective in rural areas for implementing insurance schemes rather then banks and added that Livelihood Skill Development Centre had been set up in Udaipur. He said that with the objective of promoting ' Make in India ', amendments in Labour laws and Apprentice Acts had been made for expanding industrialization.
Shri Singh said that efforts were underway to implement Swatch Bharat Mission in the state and awareness was being generated among people to construct and use toilets.
