UDHAMPUR (J&K),As part of Operation Sadbhavana a welcome ceremony was organised
by Army for

Children of Sarhad English Medium School, Pune from the border areas of Kargil
who have come home for their summer vacations. The ceremony was organised
at Chhanigund which was attended by CEC, ADC and CEO, Kargil. Officiating
Commander, 121 Infantry Brigade Group extended a warm welcome to the children
returning back home for summer holidays.
Mr Haji Mohammad Haneefa Jan, CEC personally interacted with all
children and parents during the function. CEC while interacting with students
stressed the students to strive hard for perceiving education as they have got
a good opportunity in life and said that whatever they become in life should
contribute to the development of their homeland, Kargil. He said that such kind
of facility extended by the Indian Army is Part of Goodwill projects for local
populace of Kargil particularly in the field of education.
Consolidating National Integration and knitting various areas of
our nation together, Sarhad English Medium School, Pune stands tall today in
imparting quality education to children of the far flung areas of Kargil and
Ladakh region. All the expenditure for education, boarding and lodging is
provided by Sarhad Society, Pune and the Army assists in their move from Pune
to Kargil and back every year under Operation Sadbhavana.
Parents who had come to escort their children appreciated the
efforts put in by Army to provide quality education to the children of Kargil
districts. They will be returning back to continue their academic session after
summer vacations on 12 June 2015.
