Jaipur, On the initiative of the Chief Minister Smt. Vasundhara Raje the
state government on Wednesday announced 6% hike in the Dearness Allowance
(D.A.) of the State Government employees. Dearness Relief (D.R.) for
the pensioners has also been increased by 6%.
The D.A. hike would be effective from July 1st, 2015. The prevalent D.A.
of the State Government employees was 113% and after the increase it will now
be 119% of the basic pay. Nearly 8 lakh employees and 3.5 lakh pensioners would
be benefited by this increase in D.A. and Dearness Relief. D.A. hike would also
be applicable for the work charge employees, employees of the Panchayat Samitis
and Zila Parishads.
The increased D.A. would be paid in cash from September 1st, 2015. The
Arrears on account of the increased D.A. from July 1st, 2015 to August 31st,
2015 would be credited in the GPF accounts of the employees appointed before
January 1, 2004, while the arrears of the hiked D.A. for July & August
months would be paid in cash to the employees appointed after January 1, 2004.
The increased Dearness Relief to the pensioners and family pensioners would be
paid in cash. Six percent increase in D.A. would cost the state
exchequer Rs. 640 crore additional annually in the current financial year.
