Jaipur,Sapta Shakti
Command, the Seventh and the youngest Command of the Indian Army, turned twelve
on 15 April 2017. In addition to its primary role of operational preparedness,
the command has contributed immensely to environmental protection, national
integration, welfare of Veterans and Veer Naris, Mukhyamantri Jal Swablamban
Abhiyan, various empowerment projects and sports.
To mark the 13th
Raising Day of the South Western
Command, a befitting tribute was paid to the valiant martyrs of Indian Army at
a solemn ceremony at the ‘Prerna Sthal’ in Jaipur Military Station on 15 Apr
17. To honour the gallant warriors, wreaths were laid by Lt Gen Abhay Krishna,
UYSM, AVSM, SM, VSM, GOC-in-C, South Western Command and other serving and
retired officers, JCOs and Other Ranks of the station.
Speaking on the
occasion, Lt Gen Abhay Krishna recalled the supreme sacrifice made by the
martyrs and exhorted all ranks to be forever steadfast in their resolve to meet
the myriad security challenges confronting the Nation.
