The whole setup was prepared by
team of 2 members in various labs of MUJ within 15 days.
INSPIRATION-
Before the development of MIRO, a
smaller version of the robot was displayed at a conference held in MUJ itself.
It was named “”ALICE””. It had the voice recognition functionalities similar to
that of MIRO.
The President of our college,
Prof. Sandeep Sancheti saw “ALICE” and
inspired us to develop a reception robot that was capable of attending
guests and answering all of their queries regarding Manipal University Jaipur.
As a result, MIRO came into existence.
The functionality of MIRO is
executed by an assembly of servomotors, controlled by Microcontroller and Voice
recognition system.
Initially, MIRO is programmed to
be in sleep mode, but whenever someone comes closer, it gets activated and
welcomes the person standing in front of it.
MAJOR
FUCTIONALITY & FUTURE WORK:
MIRO is basically a new
generation of Interactive response system. Generally voice response system is
used at various public facility/service centers, where the queries are to be
answered by voice output system. Whereas the proposed robot model can be more
efficient to guide and answer about the facilities and services.

Initially, MIRO is programmed to
be in sleep mode, but whenever someone comes closer, it gets activated and
welcomes the person standing in front of it. After that the keyword asked is
processed by the system and the particular answer is provided to the user with
voice and gestures.
As of now, the developed robot
system has only voice synchronized facial gesture movement. The next
development in the project would be to incorporate hand movement with voice
output.
MAKING-
MIRO
was developed with a total budget of Rs. 13,500 approximately.
