Supply of Uranium for peaceful uses of Nuclear Energy

New Delhi,India and Canada concluded an Agreement for Cooperation in Peaceful Uses of Nuclear Energy on 27th June 2010. Discussions on commercial contracts for supply of Uranium from Canada are presently underway. A bilateral Civil Nuclear Cooperation Agreement between India and Australia is nearing finalization. 
 Supply of uranium would be consistent with respective legal obligations on both sides and as such no additional conditions have been laid down. Uranium supply agreements have been concluded with Russia, France, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan. Uranium procurement policy is presently with the Government for consideration. This Information was given by the Minister of state in the Ministry of External Affairs and Overseas Indian Affairs Gen. (Retd.) Dr. V. K. Singh in Rajya Sabha today.
