Jaipur,The Indian
Army, in its many endeavors to bring the population of the state of Jammu and
Kashmir into the national mainstream, has been bringing out delegations of the
people of the state to various parts of the country.
The beautiful state of Rajasthan is always high on the agenda of such
integration tours. A large group of 25 village Elders / Maulvis from the
districts of Rajouri and Poonch are currently touring Rajasthan. They arrived
in Jaipur on Sunday, 24 Aug after their visits to Udaipur and Ajmer.
While in Jaipur, They have been visiting the world famous historical and
heritage tourist attraction with great admiration. “Such tours are eye-openers for us, Rajasthan is
so beautiful and the people are so kind and helpful”, said Haroon Rashid, a village elder from
Mendhar.
“We have so much to learn from Rajasthan and
with normalcy returning in our State, we will also be able to give a boost to
tourism”, was the opinion
expressed by Maulvi Abdul Rashied of Poonch. During their stay in Jaipur the delegation also had and interaction with Major
General Somnath Jha, the General Officer Commanding of 61 Sub Area.
