Bikaner,The Sapta Shakti Command
Investiture Ceremony was conducted at Bikaner Military Station on 15 Jan 15
under the aegis of Ranbankura Division. The event was presided over by
Lieutenant General Arun Kumar Sahni, General Officer Commanding in Chief, Sapta
Shakti Command. In addition to the awardees, the event was attended by senior
serving officers, war veterans, retired officers and brave soldiers of Sapta
Shakti Command.
In all seven individual awards and 16 Unit
Citations were given. Colonel Surendra Pal Yadav was awarded Yudh Seva
Medal and Sena Medal (Gallantry) was awarded to Maj Virendra Singh
Chandel. Two Sena Medals (Distinguished) were awarded to Lt Col Sanjay Kumar
Mishra, VSM** and Capt Ravi Kant Singh. Other than these, three Vishisht
Seva Medals were also awarded to Maj Gen Sushil Kumar Agarwal (Retd), Maj Gen
Sandeep Sharma, VSM and Maj Gen Satish Kumar Dua, SM, VSM.
The Army Commander congratulated all the
Awardees and their family members and said that this achievement was yet
another milestone in the highest traditions of the Indian Army. Further,
he called upon all soldiers to emulate the example of the awardees and thus
work selflessly to bring fame and glory to the Indian Army.
